Kagan-Shafman has worked for numerous performing arts centers, dance companies and art institutions. She has worked on projects at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Joyce Theater, Poster House museum, The Barbican Centre, Bozar, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Spoleto Festival USA, Carnegie Hall, MOCA Geffen, Banff Centre for the Arts, and Harvard University.
She co-founded Artist Afternoons, a multidisciplinary performance series, and currently works as Creative Producer and Director of Collaborative Works for Bret Easterling/BEMOVING and as a project manager and producer for Davóne Tines. She also collaborates on work with Tyshawn Sorey.
In 2022 she worked for American Modern Opera Company, Zack Winokur and Matt Aucoin's interdisciplinary company, during their Lumberyard residency in preparation for their inaugural directorship of the Ojai Music Festival and returned in 2025 to work as a producer for their Run AMOC* Festival at Lincoln Center.
Kagan-Shafman has worked for dance companies including, A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, and Alexandra Beller/Dances and Ephrat Asherie Dance.
She has taught for various institutions and most recently guest lectured at Columbia University's Graduate school of Music, discussing her work collaborating between dance and music.
